Today, we’re highlighting two outstanding 2023 releases that capture the range and refinement of the estate.
The Grüner Veltliner is a “village-level” wine, sourced primarily from younger vines and select parcels not designated as single-vineyard (“Ried”) sites, along with vineyards across the plains surrounding Dürnstein. The result is vibrant and expressive, offering fresh orchard fruit layered with subtle minerality and a lifted, sappy energy that makes it incredibly drinkable.
In contrast, the Loibenberg Riesling is a powerful single-vineyard expression. Dense and full-bodied, it delivers striking mineral intensity alongside a rich texture of tropical fruit, peach, and apricot. There is both depth and structure here, with the hallmark tension that defines great Wachau Riesling.
Together, these wines beautifully showcase the elegance, complexity, and unmistakable character of the Wachau.
