This extraordinary wine was crafted from fruit sourced exclusively from S.L.V. Block 4, the final remaining block of the original S.L.V. vines planted in 1972—now 51 years old and still producing fruit of remarkable character and depth. The standard 2023 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon has already garnered early critical acclaim with scores of 97 and 98 points. While this special Magnum bottling may never be submitted for formal review, it's hard to imagine it falling short of perfection. Given the pedigree of the vineyard, the age of the vines, and the quality of the 2023 vintage, a 100-point wine is certainly within reach.
