Barrel #45 was filled November 9, 2015 at 120 proof and matured for a full decade before being selected for The Wine & Cheese Place. Sagamore creates its signature Maryland-style profile by marrying the selected high-rye barrel—based on a bold 95% rye / 5% malted barley mash bill—with its sweeter 52% rye / 43% corn / 5% malted barley rye recipe. The combination balances classic rye spice with additional caramel richness, fruit and sweetness, while ten years in oak adds layers of vanilla, baking spice and mature oak. Bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV), Barrel #45 is a one-of-a-kind TWCP selection from Sagamore's increasingly scarce stocks of older Indiana-distilled rye.
