Clos des Ursules is a historic Beaune vineyard and key to the Jadot origin story as the first parcel acquired in 1826. The vineyard is a sub-climate of the Vignes Franches terroir and is divided into two sections (upper & lower) with a landmark stone hut in the center. Soils are deep red clay which tend to impart structure and elegance to the wines. Pinot Noir here is harvested manually and brought to the nearby winery for triage, destemming, and natural fermentation in passive oak vats. After alcoholic fermentation is complete the wine is racked into oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and extended aging. Approximately 16 months later the cuvee is reassembled for bottling.

There’s a lovely depth of fruit here with lifted, perfumed aromas of cherries, rose petals, blood oranges, hibiscus and terra-cotta. The medium-bodied palate has a silky, rounded mouthfeel, supported by fine-grained tannins. A great balance between freshness and power, offering immediate drinking pleasure and good aging potential. Drink or hold.
