La Vielle Julienne is a renowned winery located in the southern Rhône Valley, known for its exceptional Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. The Les Hauts Lieux Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge is a blend primarily composed of Grenache, with smaller proportions of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other traditional Rhône varietals. This wine hails from the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, celebrated for its rich, full-bodied reds. The winemaking process involves traditional fermentation techniques and aging in large oak foudres, which enhance the wine's complexity and depth. The resulting wine exhibits a vibrant bouquet of dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, complemented by notes of garrigue, spice, and a hint of minerality. The palate is well-structured with fine tannins and a long, elegant finish. This wine pairs beautifully with hearty dishes like roasted lamb, beef stew, or aged cheeses.

The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Hauts-Lieux includes slightly more Mourvèdre and comes from a cooler parcel in the northern part of the appellation. It has another level of purity and precision compared to the Trois Sources and has extraordinary notes of blueberries, cassis, black licorice, violets, and crushed stone-like minerality. Incredibly concentrated, massive, and yet perfectly balanced, it has no hard edges and is just an incredible tasting experience. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 20-25 years.
