Il Poggione is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. The Brunello di Montalcino is crafted exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, which are meticulously cultivated in the estate's vineyards. The wine undergoes a traditional winemaking process, including fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by aging in large French oak barrels for a minimum of three years. This results in a wine with a complex flavor profile, showcasing rich notes of dark cherry, plum, and hints of spice, complemented by firm tannins and balanced acidity. The wine's robust structure and depth make it an excellent pairing with hearty dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.
