Glenmorangie The Altus 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch
Glenmorangie The Altus 25 Year Old is a luxurious Highland single malt created by longtime Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bill Lumsden as an elevated expression of Glenmorangie’s elegant, fruit-driven house style. The whisky spends 25 years maturing primarily in Glenmorangie’s bespoke “designer” bourbon casks, made from specially selected American white oak and toasted and charred to the distillery’s specifications. It is then married with a small portion of 25-year-old whisky finished in Malmsey Madeira casks, paying tribute to Glenmorangie’s pioneering Madeira Wood Finish released in 1995. The result is silky and richly layered, with orange blossom, honey, ripe peach, vanilla and almond, followed by mandarin, apple, pear, yellow plum, marzipan, butter candy and ripe banana, finishing long, smooth and elegantly sweet.
