George Remus Gatsby Reserve 2025 is the fourth edition of Ross & Squibb’s ultra-limited Gatsby Reserve and was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. It is a 15-year-old Indiana straight bourbon, bottled cask strength at 102.8 proof (51.4% ABV). The 2025 release uses Ross & Squibb’s classic 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley mash bill, with Master Distiller Ian Stirsman selecting and blending some of the distillery’s oldest reserves.
The long aging produces a mature, fruit-and-oak-driven profile: cherry, vanilla and creamy oak on the nose, followed by cherry, raisin, molasses, pipe tobacco and an Armagnac-like richness, finishing with toasted oak and lingering cherry. Independent reviews also consistently find dark caramel, leather, brown sugar, baking spice and old oak, with an unusually rich texture for its relatively moderate cask-strength proof.
