Every vintage, the 2022 Finca las Duenas Reserva simply represents the best of Ribera del Duero’s historical vines from this producer, from on older parcel of Tinto Fino, Bobal, and Albillo Mayor planted in Anguix’s clay-limestone soils in 1928. There’s something magical between the varieties, harvested by hand and foot-treaded, Barona going back in time to make the wines the way they would have been 100 years ago, with full stem inclusion and native yeasts. Silky on the palate in refined red berry fruit, it has an unmistakable earthiness of dug-up mushrooms and garrigue. Hold and drink 2032-2042.
