Domaine Michel Niellon is a renowned winery located in the heart of Burgundy, France, known for producing exceptional Chassagne-Montrachet wines. This wine is crafted from Chardonnay grapes, which thrive in the limestone-rich soils of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation. The winemaking process involves careful fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, imparting a subtle oak influence that complements the wine's natural minerality. The flavor profile is characterized by notes of ripe citrus, white flowers, and a hint of toasted almonds, balanced by a vibrant acidity and a creamy texture. This wine pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, creamy pastas, and soft cheeses.

Professional Scores

There is a whiff of the exotic present on the slightly honeyed aromas of white peach, freshly sliced citrus and a floral top note. The succulent, even seductively textured medium-bodied flavors possess both good volume and density that contrasts somewhat with the bone-dry, moderately austere and borderline tannic finale. The Clos de la Maltroie is usually approachable young, but this sneaky long effort is going to require at least some patience. In a word, lovely. Outstanding
