Chota Tingrai Black Tea – Single-Origin Assam Tea

A good cup of chai starts with tea that can hold its own. Chota Tingrai Black Tea is an organically farmed, single-origin Assam black tea that brews a medium-strength cup with the character to stand up beautifully to milk and spices. Grown on the Chota Tingrai estate in Tinsukia, Assam, this tea comes from India’s fertile Brahmaputra Valley. The estate focuses on improving soil fertility through organic tea management and was among the first tea estates owned and operated by an Indian family in independent India. What is CTC tea? CTC stands for crush, tear, curl, the processing method used to make this tea. Its sturdy character makes it especially well suited to chai, where the tea needs to hold its place alongside milk and aromatic spices. How to enjoy it: Brew a cup with a splash of milk, or make it the foundation of homemade chai with ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon. Adjust the spices and sweetness to make the cup your own. Why we love it: A single-estate tea with a practical place in the everyday kitchen. It brings character to a simple cup and gives your favorite chai spices a dependable partner.
