80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec
Château Le Chêne de Margot is Laurent Dubois' personal vintage. It was formed by
the acquisition of high-quality plots of land some fifteen years ago. As its name
suggests, there is a hundred-year-old oak. The winegrower reveals all his oenological
know-how, with wines that go straight to the senses, based on fruity temperament
and immediate pleasure.
Lovely nose of red and blue fruit characters. The palate has roasty cocoa tones, some
minerality, smooth tannins and is rather long. Good value.

Laurent Dubois has vines in Blaye as well as the Bordeaux appellation. This wine, with its touch of Malbec, has licorice and black-fruit aromas, gentle tannins and rounded black fruits. A solid wine, likely to be ready from 2026. — Roger Voss
