70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc
Starting in 1937, this family-vineyard is located East of the Bordeaux wine region, 25 minutes from Saint-Emilion. Wines of the Franc de Ferriere family originate from a unique area on the hills of the Dordogne river, giving the appellation all of its originality and grace.
There is a good addition of the two Cabernets to the dominant Merlot in this wood-aged wine. A spicy, toasty aroma is set to soften as the wine matures. Rich tannins and dark blackberry flavors are laced with acidity. Drink from 2027. Organic. — Roger Voss
