Cayuse Vineyards, located in the Walla Walla Valley of Washington State, is renowned for its biodynamic farming practices and distinctive terroir-driven wines. The Syrah En Cerise is crafted from 100% Syrah grapes grown in the En Cerise Vineyard, known for its cobblestone soils that impart a unique minerality to the wine. The winemaking process involves fermentation in concrete tanks and aging in French oak barrels, which enhances the wine's complexity and depth. This Syrah exhibits a rich flavor profile with notes of dark berries, smoked meat, and earthy undertones, complemented by a balanced acidity and fine tannins. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

Savory, smokey and dusty, the 2020 Syrah en Cerise is firm, mineral-driven and expressive with potpourri and dark red fruit aromas, hints of pink and green peppercorns and a spicy and mineral essence. Medium-bodied, the palate gives way to a balanced and spicy core of dark red fruit with savory flavors of sage and wild brush before offering notes of umami and dusty flowers across the mid-palate. The wine continues to open and evolve, revealing more spicy and savory notes before ending with a soft hint of iodine and leather. Enjoy with food.

97 Points. Made without the use of Viognier, the 2019 Syrah en Cerise is a firmer and denser expression of Syrah with Walla Walla attitude and swagger. Aromas of dark cherry, smoke and a hint of baking spices with turned earth express beautifully with notions of black plums with black peppercorn. Medium-bodied... the palate and mouthfeel are generous as it offers a broad-shouldered structure with a firm tannic edge that is fresh and food-friendly. The wine glides to an impressive finish with lingering hints of sage and olives as the fine-grained tannins continue with persistence. —Anthony Mueller, The Wine Advocate
