"Vicomté” is a noble title in the European aristocratic system. The vineyards of La Vicomté were built during the reign of the lords of Montpellier and span from Montpellier to the Mediterranean. Every bottle tells the tale of the land, elevated by legends surrounding the château and brought to life by modern sustainable winemaking methods.
It’s important to know that Picpoul grows in a warm and dry climate, close to the Mediterranean sea. Its aromatic profile shows floral aromas with prevailing notes of lemon & citrus. The signature of the Picpoul, however, is a slight saline minerality on the palate.
The salinity of this wine make it a great accompaniment to oysters, shellfish, as well as any fried appetizers like calamari. As it is a quite versatile grape varietal, this wine pairs great with any Provencal dish like tapenade, bouillabaisse, ratatouille, etc.
