86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot
Full-bodied and elegant, this red Bordeaux blend from Pauillac offers notes of cassis, black fruit, and oak.
The estate takes its name from the elevated Bages area and the Libéral family, who added their name to the property in the early eighteenth century. The family assembled vineyard holdings in southern Pauillac, helping establish the estate’s reputation. Château Haut-Bages Libéral earned Grand Cru Classé status in the 1855 Bordeaux classification and later passed through several owners before Jacques Merlaut’s arrival in 1982.
