L'Aventure Winery, located in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles, is renowned for its innovative blends and commitment to quality. The Cote a Cote is a Rhone-style blend that typically includes Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, showcasing the winery's expertise in crafting complex and balanced wines. The Willow Creek District, known for its limestone-rich soils and coastal influences, provides an ideal terroir for these varietals. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, which imparts subtle vanilla and spice notes, complementing the rich fruit flavors of blackberry, plum, and cherry. The palate is well-structured with fine tannins and a vibrant acidity, making it an excellent pairing for grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

The 2020 Côte a Côte is a beautiful blend of 45% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 25% Mourvèdre and one of the most successful wines I tasted from the challenging 2020 vintage. Deep ruby-purple, it offers pure aromas of blackcurrant, boysenberry, tar and pipe tobacco, continually unfolding with each return to the glass. The full-bodied palate offers wave after wave of perfumed fruit and tremendous spicy accents. It's powerful yet harmoniously structured with powdery tannins and seamless acidity, and it offers a very long, detailed finish
