Chateau de Nalys Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Grand Vin 2022

. Original price: . Final price: $89.99

Château de Nalys is one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s oldest and most storied estates, with vineyard records dating back to the 16th century. Acquired by the Guigal family in 2017, the 50-hectare property spans three prime terroirs - Nalys, Bois Sénéchal, and the famed La Crau - encompassing all 13 permitted grape varieties. Guigal has brought its trademark precision and exacting viticulture to the estate, elevating quality across the board. Today, Château de Nalys produces both red and white Châteauneuf wines of remarkable depth and polish that combine the region’s rich, sun-soaked character with the structure and finesse that define the Guigal style.

Made from 40% each of Grenache Blanc and Roussanne and the rest Clairette, brought up all in wood, (2/3 demi-muids and 1/3 barrels, 5% new), the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Grand Vin Blanc is one of – if not the – white of the vintage. White peach, citrus oil, green almonds, brioche, and toasty notes define the aromatics, and it’s full-bodied, with a layered, concentrated yet focused mouthfeel, good acidity (pH 3.4), and a great finish. It's a stunning white from the south that I wish every reader could taste. It will evolve for 15 years or more.
