Allegrini is a renowned winery located in the heart of the Valpolicella region in Italy, known for its dedication to producing high-quality wines. The Amarone Classico is a rich and complex red wine crafted from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. This wine is produced using the traditional appassimento method, where the grapes are partially dried before fermentation, enhancing the concentration of flavors. The wine is aged in oak barrels, which imparts subtle notes of spice and vanilla. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied experience with flavors of dark cherry, plum, and hints of chocolate, balanced by a firm tannin structure and a long, elegant finish. This Amarone pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.

Professional Scores

93

A very well-made Amarone that shows good poise and dryness on the palate, with black chocolate, cigars, dark raspberry jam, wax and graphite. Lots of silky, melted tannins on the medium-to full-bodied palate, before an elegant and dry finish. Excellent length. Sustainable. Still needs some time for extra complexity to come through.
