Budbreak in 2024 came nearly a month earlier than in 2023. (Chris compares the two vintages to 1998 and 1999.) I love the nose on the 2024 Chardonnay Dundee Hills. Bright pale yellow in color, it opens with green pear, spearmint, flinty reduction, chalky nuttiness, lime zest, and lemon. Full-bodied yet vertical and long, it has outstanding salinity, vibrant energy, and electric tension. The acidity is even higher than in 2023. A gorgeous appellation wine that drinks far above its level, drink it over the coming 8-10 years.

Aromas of lemon meringue, white peaches, spiced green pears and vanilla blossoms. Medium- to full-bodied with a luscious, juicy texture and a mix of citrus and stone fruit. Sumptuous and delicious. Drink or hold.
