Domaine William Fèvre is a renowned producer in the Chablis region of Burgundy, France, known for its exceptional expression of Chardonnay. The Chablis Bougros is crafted from grapes grown on the steep slopes of the Bougros Grand Cru vineyard, which is characterized by its Kimmeridgian limestone soils. This wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit, followed by aging in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth. The resulting wine is a classic Chablis with a vibrant acidity, minerality, and flavors of green apple, citrus, and subtle notes of almond and flint. It pairs beautifully with seafood, particularly oysters and shellfish, as well as creamy cheeses.

Professional Scores

94

This is generally the richest, most fruit-driven grand cru bottling chez Fèvre, but the 2020 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is a wine of particular distinction. Exhibiting aromas of peach, citrus blossom, bee pollen and oyster shell, it's a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered wine that's ample but elegant, with racy acids and a long, saline finish.
