Very Olde St. Nick Summer Rye is a powerful cask-strength rye drawn from select vintage barrels of American rye whiskey held in the brand’s Bardstown stocks. Each barrel is aged for at least seven summers and selected before another Kentucky summer can take an even greater share to evaporation, then bottled uncut and unfiltered—this release at a hefty 118.4 proof. Even the name has a story: “Summer Rye” is a play on “Samurai,” reflecting the brand’s long connection to the Japanese market. Rich, intense and spicy, this is the kind of small-production, high-proof rye that helped make Very Olde St. Nick a cult whiskey label, and Summer Rye has also earned a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
