The 2022 growing season in Red Mountain was characterized by a cold and wet spring, a brief but hot summer, and a warm fall. The 2022 growing season resulted in expressive high-quality wines with high yields. This vintage marks the first to feature Cabernet from Klipsun's newest vineyard block, planted with our preferred Cabernet clone, FPS-4, sourced from Terlato Family vineyards in Napa.

The 2022 Red Blend is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (20%), Syrah (17%), Malbec (7%) and Cabernet Franc (1%), matured for 14 months in 50% new French oak. It has pure scents of black cherry, dark chocolate, lavender, star anise and seamlessly integrated oak spice. The full-bodied palate is powerful and perfumed with intense, floral fruit and luxurious, velvety tannins. It’s balanced by bright acidity and has a long, mineral-driven finish. 6,526 cases were made.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon mixes spiced orange with crushed black cherries and hints of mint. Youthfully intense, this saturates the palate with primary concentration, showing masses of mineral-inflected red berry fruits carried across a silken textural wave. Tannic and long, the 2022 possesses a grippy structure, resonating with tart raspberry, mocha and a lingering note of white pepper.
