Bounty Premium Dark is the flagship dark rum from Saint Lucia Distillers, the same distillery behind Chairman’s Reserve and Admiral Rodney. Known locally as “The Spirit of Saint Lucia,” Bounty has been produced since 1972 and is one of the island’s best-known rum brands. The Dark is a blend of column-still and pot-still rums, with the current official specification listing 3-year column-still rum and 6-year pot-still rum, matured in ex-Bourbon barrels.
At 43% ABV (86 proof), it is richer and more full-bodied than Bounty Gold, showing chocolate, hazelnut and toffee, with cinnamon and tobacco followed by caramelized sugar and brown butter on the long finish.
