One of the benchmarks of traditional German wheat beer, Schneider Weisse Original (TAP7) has been brewed to Georg I. Schneider’s original 1872 recipe for more than 150 years. Unlike many pale, golden Hefeweizens, Schneider Original pours a distinctive deep amber with a full, maltier character. Wheat and barley malts provide a rich foundation for classic Hefeweizen notes of ripe banana, clove and fruit, with subtle spice and a refreshing carbonation. Open fermentation followed by genuine bottle conditioning, with no filtration or pasteurization, preserves the traditional character of this historic Bavarian Weissbier.
