One of the quintessential beers of Munich, Hofbräu Original is a traditional Bavarian Helles from the historic Hofbräu München, founded by Duke Wilhelm V of Bavaria in 1589 to brew beer for the royal court. Bright golden in color, it offers a lightly malty, full-bodied character with subtle caramel, floral hops and a touch of citrus, finishing clean with a refined bitterness. At 5.1% ABV and 24 IBU, it has a little more hop presence than some softer Helles lagers while remaining exceptionally balanced and drinkable—a genuine Münchner Bier and a classic taste of Munich beer-hall tradition
