One of Germany’s classic lagers, DAB Dortmunder Export comes from Dortmunder Actien Brauerei, founded in Dortmund in 1868. DAB traces the development of the Dortmunder Export style to its early export brewing—a slightly stronger, hoppier lager that ultimately became popular in its own right. Golden and brilliantly clear, DAB balances a mild, slightly sweet malt backbone with clean hop bitterness, finishing crisp, smooth and exceptionally drinkable. Think of the style as occupying the sweet spot between a maltier Munich Helles and a hoppier German Pilsner—balanced rather than dominated by either malt or hops.
