Two 95 Point Rhone Blends Under $35

Today we are highlighting a couple of outstanding blends from California and Spain. The 2020 Tensley “All Blocks” is a stunning blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from Tensley’s Colson Canyon Vineyard. This Grenache dominated wine is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove. Brimming with intensity and flavor the All Blocks still manages to maintain an elegance and balance that will keep you coming back for another glass. Our second 95 Pointer, the 2017 Casa Castillo Las Gravas hails from Spain’s Jumilla region. Jumilla is known for their inky dark Monastrell (Mourvèdre) based wines and the Las Gravas certainly fits the mold. A blend of 80% Monastrell and 20% Garnacha the Las Gravas shows off as soon as you pour it into the glass. Best of all this 2017 is drinking perfectly right now no need to cellar just pop, pour and enjoy! |
