The Faiveley holding here is 0.23ha of very old vines, the oldest being planted in the 1930s. The wine is extremely ripe, with a deep plummy fruit and an accent that almost says cacao. One might mistake it for a voluptuous Volnay, but there is too much tannic structure. A delightful wine, which should age for decades.
