Spicy red and black fruits, Provençal garrigue, and tons of spice all shine from the 2023 Vacqueyras Grande Garrigue, and it's medium-bodied, has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It was aged primarily in tanks with a small portion in barrel. This complex, incredibly Provençal beauty will drink well over the coming 8-10 years. Drink 2026-2035.

Rated 93/100 Jeb Dunnuck

Located in the Orange commune of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Jaume family has been dedicated to the art of wine growing since 1826. Since 1979, the domaine has been run by 5th generation Alain Jaume, who is now helped by his children Christophe, Sébastien, and Hélène. The 225-acre estate covers several AOCs and 13 grape types, and produces wine under four labels: Grand Veneur, Alain Jaume, Domaine du Clos de Sixte & Château Mazane. Vacqueyras was granted AOC status in 1990.

Grapes have been grown here, along the banks of the Ouvèze River (a tributary of the Rhône), since the 16th century. The AOC produces 533,000 cases, mostly red wine, from 3,200 acres. The AOC requires a minimum of 50% Grenache.
